| Babbacombe Torbay |
 |
 |
| 8th October 7 days Half Board £298 |
| Beautiful Babbacombe and Babbacombe Bay is an English Riviera
family hotspot, with two award winning beaches, a glorious cliff top
promenade, Babbacombe Downs lined hotels, the delightful Cliff
Railway and the spectacular Babbacombe Model Village. This outdoor
model village was opened in 1963 by Tom Dobbins. Mr Dobbins had
previously opened another model village at Southport in 1957. This
wonderful exhibition covers 4 acres and includes over 400 models
along with over 1,000 ft of model train track and is well worth a visit. |
Day 1
We travel south via the
motorway network making
suitable stops along the way.
For lunch we normally leave the
motorway and use a friendly
garden centre, arriving at The
Seabury around 3.45pm.
Day 2
We drive through Paignton to
Totnes then following the route
of the River Dart to Dartmouth.
A pretty town full of naval
history and where part of The
Onedin Line was fi lmed in the
cobbled streets of Bayards Cove.
You also have time for a sail on
the River Dart before we cross
the river for our journey back to
The Seabury.
Day 3
We head to Newton Abbott for
our fi rst stop today. It's market
day so the town is busy. After lunch we travel on to Dartmoor
and visit Widecombe in the Moor
with its lovely church, always been
known as the cathedral in Moor.
|
Day 4
Our day out take us fi rst to
Exeter then Dawlish and then on
the historic port of Teignmouth
with its Canadian connections.
Afterwards we follow the winding
coast road back to Babbacombe.
Day 5
Morning drive to Brixham,
returning via Meadfoot Beach. On
the return we drop any passengers
who wish, in Torquay.
Day 6
A day at leisure in Babbacome
Day 7
We depart the hotel after
breakfast for the journey back
to The North West arriving late
afternoon.
