of France. This region offers a favourable climate, wonderful scenery and fi ne
gastronomic tradition. Our base is in the beautiful village of Le Bugue, where
our hotel occupies a scenic location overlooking The River Vezere. A terrifi c
place in which to explore the Dordogne and Vezere valleys. |
Day 1
An early start as we head south to Dover, we then cross the
channel to Calais and head south to our overnight stop at the Holiday
Inn Velizy just south of Paris.
Day 2
An early breakfast and back out on the autoroute south. We pass
Orleans and Limogesas as we head for the Dordogne and the pretty
town of Le Bugue where we fi nd our hotel for the next 5 nights. After
dinner its time to relax and get to know our surroundings.
Day 3
A scenic drive along the Dordogne valley to visit Bergerac where
the town slopes down to the river. This a famous wine producing area.
We return via a different route.
|
Day 4
A long but worthwhile day excursion, stopping fi rst at Sarlat le
Caneda, then in the afternoon we travel to Rocamadour, a town built on
ledges above a almost sheer cliff, great views and very interesting.
Day 5
A day at Leisure in Le Bugue.
Day 6
Full day to Perigueux capital of the region, the town offers
stunning architecture with many pavement cafes. We allow plenty of
time to explore.
