Market Bosworth
3rd February 3 days/2 nights Half Board £89
Nightly entertainment with a free bar for just 1 hour
King Edward I gave a royal charter to Sir William Harcourt allowing a market to be held every Wednesday. The village took the name Market Bosworth from 12 May 1285, and on this day became a "Town" by common defi nition. The two oldest buildings in Bosworth, St. Peter's Church and the Red Lion Pub, were built during the 14th Century. The Battle of Bosworth took place to the south of the town in 1485 as the fi nal battle in the Wars of the Roses between the House of Lancaster and the House of York. In 1509 the manor passed from the Harcourts to the Grey family.

In 1885 the 11th Baronet 'Beau' Dixie was forced to auction Bosworth Hall to pay his gambling debts. It was bought by Lady Agnes Tollemache whose husband Charles Tollemache Scott enlarged the estate, planted woodlands and rebuilt the lodges and farms, Lady Agnes' daughter sold the estate in 1913.
Day 1
After our pick ups we head south via the M6 motorway to arrive in the city of Lichfi eld for lunch. We have time to explore this hidden gem of Staffordshire, then mid afternoon we travel on to Market Bosworth and the hotel.

Day 2
A hearty breakfast before we set out for Coventry, where you can explore the old and new Cathedrals in this attractive modern city. The city was the fi rst in the world to set up a Twin City - their twin being Stalingrad now known as Volgograd, set up during WW2. Today it has 23 twin partners around the world. We return for dinner and entertainment and our free bar, but just one hour mind!
Day 3
A lazy start to the day with a little time to explore the village. We then travel to The National Memorial Arboretum, hopefully to arrive before 11 am. You can normally fi nd a good value lunch here. After lunch we head north to arrive in our area around 5pm.
