| Madeira - the Island of Flowers |
 |
Departs 8th Oct 8 days HB £769.
Direct Flights from Manchester. |
Situated in the mid-Atlantic, the island of Madeira is lapped by the waters
of the Gulf Stream, with warm comfortable summers and mild winters
encouraging lush foliage. The volcanic terrain is spectacular with deep
ravines and towering cliffs providing stunning scenery right across the
island. Madeira is known as the "Island of Flowers" with exotic plants
thriving throughout the year, ensuring that the botanical gardens are
renowned worldwide. Our tour includes a visit to both the botanical
gardens and the capital, Funchal. We also visit the spectacular beauty
spot of Eira do Serrado and Monte where you will see the traditional
wicker toboggans sliding down the steep hillside.
