| Minehead |

| Minehead is an attractive and modern little resort on the southern
shore of the Bristol Channel. It owed much of its early growth to the
GWR (Great Western Railway, or "God's Wonderful Railway", as it
came to be known following the rise to fame of the inspirational
railway engineer, Isombard Kingdom Brunel). In the 1960's, however,
the now nationalised line was axed by the infamous Dr Beeching, only
to be reborn as the charmingly preserved West Somerset Railway. In
guise, the tracks still lead to Minehead and help make this bustling
resort everything it is today. |
Day 1
We head south stopping for
lunch off the motorway to arrive
at the Beach Hotel by 4pm.
Day 2
A scenic drive via Porlock to
Linton & Lymouth, returning via
Exmoor to Dunster. |
Day 3
A pleasant drive via Watchet
to Bridgewater then returning through Bishop Lydeard where
those who wish will be able to
join the steam train service back
to Minehead.
Day 4
A day at leisure in Minehead.
Day 5
Sadly we depart for home today

YOUR HOTEL - The Beach Hotel
The Beach Hotel stands next to the steam railway overlooking the sea
front and ideally situated to enjoy the popular resort of Minehead. The
sea front and the shops are a level walk from the hotel and make a
good after dinner stroll.
Price Includes: 4 nights Dinner B & B at the Beach Hotel, all ensuite
rooms with TV, telephone & tea makers. There is NO lift at the beach
but 1st floor room are available. Three nights entertainment, all meals
are buffet style. Door to door pick ups, Luxury coach travel, services of
experienced tour driver and excursion as listed.
