Northumberland
22nd April 6 days Half Board £349
23rd September 6 days Half Board £415
The Northern parts of Northumberland are the most attractive in the region. This is particularly true of the area around Bamburgh, with its magnifi cent castle the home of the Armstrong family, and the attractive nearby fi shing port of Seahouses. From here you can sail to the Farne Isles, home of Grace Darling for her short life. There is also Holy Island and the Priory, the cradle of Christianity in the area, as well as the pretty walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. For this is the border country, where England meets Scotland; it's the battlefi eld of Flodden, and it's lots, lots, more. The list of possible visits just goes on and on
Day 1
We travel north via the motorway stopping for coffee en-route, and on to Hexham for you to fi nd some lunch. Afterwards we join the A1 and head north again arriving at the Victoria around 3.30pm. We settle in with enough time for a stroll around the village.

Day 2
A coastal drive. We start by going south to Alnmouth and follow the coast via Embleton to Craster famous for its kippers, only buy the vacuum packed ones if you want to take some home. After lunch we travel on to our fi nal stop at Seahouses with fi ne views on the Farne Islands & Bamburgh Castle.

Day 3
Morning visit to Bamburgh castle included in tour price, the rest of the day you are free to do your own thing. Should you wish to go to The Farne Islands the coach will take you to Billy Shiels OBE, the best boat company in Seahouses. The sail is a great experience costing about #12, afterwards you can get the bus back to Bamburgh, Those not wishing to sail can visit the Grace Darling Museum in Bamburgh.
Day 4
One of the highlights of the tour. Across the causeway (by coach) to Holy Island where you can visit St Aidens Monastery and try the local mead before we leave the island. We have our lunch on board with super views of the coast. From here we travel on to Berwick on Tweed, a town that has been in and out of Scotland many time over the years. In England at present, but not long if us 'Jocks' get our way. Oh by the way when we 'Jocks' had the toon we had a 'Mint' here.

Day 5
A hearty Northumbria Breakfast at 8am before we set off about 9.15 and today we are going to Alnwick to visit the world famous Alnwick Garden. Admission included, but should you wish to visit the castle there is an extra charge to pay. We then take you into town for lunch on board, afterwards you have some free time in the town. While you are in town look out for Ye Old Cross Inn, send a picture of your visit with the story of what you fi nd and you could win a prize.

Day 6
Sadly this is our last breakfast , don't forget to nip to the butchers next door for your Bamburgh Bangers 'an yer' Haggis. We head south via the A1 then cross country to Barnard Castle for a lunch stop, then onward to the M6 at Tebay.
