| Dunoon ....Scottish Splendour |
5 Days/4 Nights Half Board
2nd April £269
21st October £269 |
|
Dunoon is the largest town in Argyll. It's built around two bays
between which is the site of the former Dunoon castle. There's
an excellent view of the town from here. Your visit will be
memorable as the scenery really is unparalleled in these parts.
Take a stroll, as the locals do, through the Botanic Gardens or
the Victorian town centre. You'll be tempted, we know, by the
tea rooms and shops. But don't worry - you're on holiday!

ITINERARY
Day 1
We head north into Ayrshire and later take in the
fine views over The Firth of Cylde as we head for the ferry
near Greenock. We cross the Firth by ferry and then we
drive along the coast to Dunoon and the Esplanade Hotel.
Day 2
A day of superb scenery as we travel through the
Glens to Inveraray an attractive little town with plenty to
see and do. Time for lunch (included in the diner tour)
then on to Tighnabruaich with time to explore and get a
cuppa at the tea room before returning via the head of
Loch Long and Holy Loch to Dunoon.
Day 3
A morning drive to Toward with good views of The
Firth of Clyde. We then return to Dunoon before going
over the hills to Ardentinny and Kilmun Church, then
return via Holy Loch to Dunoon.
Day 4
Today we start by going over the Rest & Be
Thankful to Loch Lomond, then on to the village of
Luss, voted Scotland's most attractive village. We spend
time here for lunch and sightseeing, then continue via
Garelochead to Helensborough and Dumbarton and then
back to Greenock for the ferry back to Dunoon and the
Esplanade.
Day 5
Back on the ferry today to cross the Firth before
heading south with suitable stops along the way, arriving
home late afternoon.
