| Sidmouth |
 |
 |
| 11th June 6 days Half Board £418 |
| This wonderful place Sidmouth is the place the poet John Betjeman
called "A town caught still in a timeless charm." We think you'll find
this is still true. It's certainly a beautiful resort, with its famous Regency
architecture, its beautiful gardens, leisurely walks, beach and majestic
red cliffs. These were formed some 200 million years ago, and are one of
the features of the Jurassic Coast, on which the resort proudly stands and
to which people come from all over the world. |
Day 1
We journey through the
Midlands leaving the motorway
at Exeter. We journey across
country to Sidmouth, arriving at
The Bedford at about 4.15.
Day 2
Morning drive through the Sid
Valley and over the hills to
Honiton (for antiques shops,
lace museum, cafes, restaurants
and wine bars.) |
Day 3
Full day to Exeter (Devon
County Town) new city centre
development, cathedral, Roman
bridge and wall, network of the
city centre tunnels and Exmouth (pleasant resort; opportunity for
scenic river cruise),
Day 4
Dorset Dalliance: Full day to
Lyme Regis & West Bay.
Day 5
Full day to the pretty fi shing
village of Beer, Seaton and
Axmouth. You'll have time for a
tram ride along the River Axe, if
you wish, which is the best way
to view the wonderful bird life.
Day 6
Sadly we leave The Bedford this
morning and head for home
normally calling at Worcester for
a break. |
