Day Excursions - Fantastic Days Out for All the Family at a Great Price!..

Join us on a trip to Oswaldtwistle Mill, an award-winning Shopping Village in Lancashire. The former Weaving Mill is a shopping paradise with over 100 retailers. It also features five restaurants, an ice cream parlour, a Home, Lifestyle & Garden Centre, Mill Grounds, Aquatics Specialist, Textile and Heritage Museum, and its own Wildfowl Reserve. After lunch at leisure, we continue to Gawthorpe Hall, an Elizabethan gem in industrial Lancashire, with landscaped gardens and an ornamental terraced garden overlooking the River Calder. The Shuttleworth family has owned the estate since the 12th century, and the Hall boasts impressive furniture and the Gawthorpe Textile Collection.

This morning we travel to North Wales, arriving at the royal town of Caernarfon with some free time at leisure. This afternoon is the highlight of our trip as we step back in time and take to the tracks of the Welsh Highland Railway, the UK’s longest heritage railway, for a magical steam train journey. Commencing from beneath the walls of mighty Caernarfon Castle, sit back and relax on a 25-mile journey in your comfortable carriage, passing along glorious coastlines, through ancient oak woodlands, rivers, the picturesque village of Beddgelert, over the Aberglasyn Pass, and on to Porthmadog. We return home by coach.

Join us on a delightful day trip to the Fylde Coast, visiting the charming Lancashire town of Lytham St Annes. Our destination is the ever-popular Bedford Hotel, where you’ll be greeted with a refreshing welcome drink of bubbly. Relax and enjoy a delicious three-course Young at Heart lunch, elegantly served in the hotel's beautiful ballroom. Afterward, savor tea or coffee as the afternoon comes alive with entertainment, including fun bingo, lively cabaret performances, uplifting singing, and plenty of opportunities to dance the afternoon away. Join us on a special trip to the Peak District for a unique spectacular. On arrival at Matlock there will be time to explore the town and in the early evening we head to the setting of the beautiful riverside Derwent Gardens, filled with stalls and fairground rides. The Matlock Bath Venetian Boat Builders' Association decorate themed models with an array of coloured lights which are mounted on rowing boats and appear to ‘glide’ above the water on a wonderful parade along the river. As a grand finale to finish the evening there is a dazzling firework display .
